MICHAEL KIRBY is a member of the Antaeus Theatre Company in Los Angeles and a founding member of the Andak Theatre Company (LA), Michael has performed both onstage and onscreen since he was a teenager. Most recently, he appeared with leading roles in two feature films from Director Ryan Denmark, including Chase The Slut (official pick of the Edinburg Film Festival) and Hell’s Heart (premiered at the Hollywood Film Festival). Other film and television appearances include Connected, Passing Normal, Benevolence, PBS’ Rickover: Birth of Nuclear Power and Fox’s Boston Public. Michael has performed at many theatres across the US, including off-Broadway with Epic Theatre Ensemble and multiple shows at The Mark Taper Forum (most recently Bent by Director Moisés Kaufman). Through his work with the award-winning LA Theatre Works, Michael toured the country performing on stage and in studio radio plays. He also worked at The Old Globe in San Diego, including past work with Tony award-winning directors Darko Tresnjak and Pam Mackinnon, as well as at Syracuse Stage, The Barnstormers Theatre and The Laguna Playhouse (Tickled Pink written by and co-starring Rita Rudner). This spring Michael will appear at the opening of Antaeus’ new theatre in Glendale (CA) in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof directed by Cameron Watson. He is the grandson of MGM contract actor and Canadian Figure Skating Champion Michael Kirby.
